In the Pacific Northwest, our problem is Evergreens...pine, cedar, fir etc. These trees have billions of needles; they are very lightweight. These needles do not fall to the ground. They follow the curve of the LeafGuard® product top and they, along with the water, flow right into the gutter.

When needles enter the gutter they move to the bottom and rear of the gutter along with the water. Needles catch on the brackets and begin to 'dam up'--much like a Beaver builds a dam, needles start with one or two catching on the bracket and then other needles are trapped by the first few. Soon the system becomes clogged and requires cleaning or mucking out.

Leaf Solution™ protected gutters do not let even one fir needle enter the gutter. The needles float off the top of the stainless steel micro-mesh and onto the ground. Since Leaf Solution™ has no gaps or slits, needles can't get in at all. The whole point of a gutter protection system is to keep stuff from ever getting into your gutters in the first place. If stuff doesn't get in, you don't have to muck them out.
